House facade redesign & foundation planting plan
Project type
House facade & foundation planting plan
Date
Nov 2023
Location
Davisville Village, Toronto, ON
The client was seeking assistance to come up with an architectural redesign of their front house facade, in a Georgian neoclassical style, one they admired with many houses in the neighbourhood. This was a unique project for me, and much research was done to create a number of concepts from which the client determined the final direction.
This rendering captured a number of structural changes to the overhanging porch, front steps, soffit, fascia, trim, shutters and upper roof peak, with new colouring to help tie in to the existing brick and some features which would remain. The style itself represents harmonious proportion, symmetry and balance, with classic arched detailing and a simple design.
The front planting plan reflects a classic approach as well, with evergreen shrubs to anchor the space, and hydrangeas and a neutral palette of other plant material to complement the new house elements.
